Looking at new tyres.
Has anyone got/had Cooper Discoverer M+S Sport tyres?

Heading snowwards in a few weeks so need grip, but also like the look of these for wet grip (C) and they appear to be fairly quiet (70db) and not to madly expensive.

Tempted....

Should be good in the wet, but not sure about snow. Narrower, open zig-zag treads work better in snow, or chains. How far are you going?

I tried some and didn't like them, but I do like the 30x9.5x15 Discoverer STT's, which I have on.  :D

Thanks guys.

Going to be doing a lot of motorway 1500 mile round trip and will take snow chains anyway for the deep stuff.

I've got a set of 15s with two good general grabber at2s, so could get another pair of tyres for that set, slicker ones on the front. Or replace all four on the 16s and sell the 15s.

Rarely go off road so those Cooper's looked a reasonable compromise and not too noisey, SSTs look a bit too chunky for daily road use.

I've STT's, not SST's.

I use mine daily and that includes down round Spain and back.

If your only doing 1500 miles then just use the snowchains where required.

Like the proverbial sticking to a blanket.  Laughing

I have actually surprised myself a time or two by it holding cornering much better than expected.  :D
