Happy today the Truck passed its MOT, its 14th whilst with me. Cool

I didn't watch the guy doing it but later on he commented that the work I had done in the last few weeks would have been his first places to look on these vehicles.

He was talking about the drop links, anti roll bar bushes, track rod ends, CV bellows basically anything with a ball joint covered in rubber...Ö.he knew about rubber bump stops punching holes in the box sections too.

His handy man who operates the switches when the car is up in the air now also stands behind the car as it is started up looking for excessive smoke, this is as well as the emissions test later on.

I also noticed I had no advisories, yet I always get at least one, it looks like there is no box for this on the report anymore.

He did comment that out of the three inspectors in the garage he drew the short straw to test my truck. Rolling Eyes

Why is that? I asked.

You have too many add ons, he said, if you have made a modification invariably we have to test it, basically your truck is your pride and joy, but the lights the wide track, wheels, tyres, tints, switches, to me are a pain in the a34e. Shocked

Charming Exclamation

Glad it passed, but with an attitude Like his I would be inclined to find another garage.  Your accassory lamps don't need testing, as they are not part of the new MoT test.  Confused

Well done, that man! A well maintained Deli is a wonderful thing. So I'll have everything crossed when mine gets scrutinised shortly!

Thank you gents.

Roll on the day it doesnt need one, how stupid is that the exemption is for vehicles of 40 years old or above.

Surely vehicles of 40 years old or above are more likely for the need to be tested. Confused

If the powers that be decided this was a good idea then they may also think its a fantastic idea to exempt MOTs for all Japenese import vehicles....why?.....why not Exclamation

They may be exempt having a test, but they still have to be able to pass one, i.e. properly maintained. †Wink
