anyone else experienced this?  when the door was trying to close itself something was in the way stopping it closing... it tried several times and then just seized!

now, whether unlocked or not, just simply will not open...  Shocked  Shocked  Shocked  Shocked

what to do anyone any ideas??  :?

also auto step stopped, but a couple of weeks before this happened, so any thoughts on that would be helpful too

many thanks

I had the same on mine but it cured itself.

Sounds like the auto step has probably seized or bound up.

I would turn the auto side step option off and make sure it's pushed back in fully by hand.

Then disconnect the battery to allow that side of things to reset.

It's possible that the systems that operate the step and sliding door close are connected?

Worth a try first.?

Thanks for the thought Green Grouch. The step got confused the last time the door got stuck but then sorted out the door by shutting it fully first then opening again but the step remained unresponsive.  Since then something stuck in door again so it now not budging again.
The step rather annoyingly is quite hard to push in but will easily slide out when I'm standing on it and leaning into it then I nearly fall as it slides out obligingly!  Not!

Will try the disconnect reset suggestion. Ta

I once had a problem where the side door locking stopped working.

After taking off the door card I discovered that the circlip holding the locking bar on the key barrel had broken and the bar had become disconnected and dropped downwards.

At the time I was on a trip through Germany and didn't have my spares box with me, and couldn't locate a supply.

I sorted it though with a simple fix that lasted a year before I repaired it properly:-

Lewis...I have just read through the top tips section and think your post would be a useful additional to the L400 stuck side door thread, there are already a couple of cause fixes there and think yours would be a very useful addition

Am going to take off the door cards (though I do not know what they are!) and check the other things they said, yeah
