Me Again
Date’s TBA, by Andyman.
The Disserth campsite, https://www.pitchup.com/campsites/Wales/West-Wales/Powys/Llandrindod_Wells/disserth-caravan-camping-park/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrJCd_9fO2wIVAlXTCh3wng5JEAAYASAAEgKNsfD_BwE
very nice. Andy and Ian should confirm that. Most of it is surrounded by trees, helping to attenuate high wind levels.
Places to go see/visit = The Elan Valley and Mountain road http://www.elanvalley.org.uk/visit/directions – leads to Devils Bridge
(from what I can make out. Limited parking)
Then on to Aberystwyth, nice beach, and a year or two back, no parking restrictions.
Elan Valley - the Pen y Garreg dam http://www.elanvalley.org.uk/events/info/9511, I had the good fortune to be there on an open day,
And technicians were working at the generator plant, I managed to get inside, unfortunately not as far in as I would have liked
Strata Florida http://my.viewranger.com/route/details/NjE4MQ== offers off roading, never tried it, do not know the off road bit.
Spoke to a friend of mine, Ralph Hosier (can be seen on TV - Supercar Megabuild) he sez "Its not too bad for damage, but tricky when it rains"
The Village, Portmeirion, well known for “The Prisoner” TV series. https://www.portmeirion-village.com/visit/the-prisoner/
I would like to go there. Google street view have been there, take a look.
Do those few items wet (or is it whet ) your appetite for going to Wales :D :D
Mr D
(NB: For anyone getting confused with dates, this is three weeks after the POCUK camping and offroading Reunion event at Stoke on Trent. See:- http://www.MDOCUK.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=49219 - Moderator) |

okay, I have checked with SWMBO, and I can do either the weekend of 21 & 22 July, or the following one, 28 & 29th or weekdays between and after 29th. If you are okay with both, state both, if neither, say when you could, and if one or other, say which one. Then we'll try to go for the most popular date, and hope the site hasn't been booked solid by the Female Harley Davidson Rider's club, like it was one year, apparently. (Mind you, can't see us minding as long as there's a bit of space for us!) _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

WHAT - - - A load of gobbledygook Me, totally confused :?
That paragraph should be removed, and set fire to :D :D
2 days = not enough, 3-4 days would be better.
For me, the earlier, the better.

Sorry for the confusing gobbledygook. Assuming that others may ONLY be able to make it at weekends, but semi- retired
old gits like you, Deker, and me would be able to add days on IF IT'S IN SCHOOL HOLS, I meant to say that I could make
it on either of those 2 weekends, I couldn't make it before Friday,20th July, but actually, ANY time in the following 14 days
would be good. (I have to be back in Cumbria for Saturday, August 4th). Over to you, and all other interested parties! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Can't do 21st/22nd July as it's Yorkshire Region Harley Riders Club meet, but any time after that is okay. _________________ Ian.

So is the following weekend 28/29th July looking favourite? I might even drive down on the Thursday before and stay until Monday or Tuesday. Or stay elsewhere on the way there and back by an indirect route. It's a nice site, the sort of place I'd be happy to leave my drive-away awning for the day, and return for an evening around the fire basket or the cosy bar. https://disserth.biz/ or other websites - google Disserth camping. £17/night , man van and awning. Need to book in good time to avoid disappointment! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

I'm already planning prospective tarmac trails on Google maps. Need to buy a good map of the area showing B.O.A.Ts or the Welsh equivalent. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Take it with you Deker, they make good travelling companions. I.E. Eat when you feed them, don't complain about the sleeping arrangements and tend to keep their mouths shut.
