There were a couple of companies advertising a recon engine swap for a bit over a grand, but I can't believe they could give you a decent engine and change it for that money?
Have you the time and space to swap one yourself?
If so, look for a rust Mot failed vehicle with a bit of service history. _________________ A Little Knowledge is Dangerous and expensive! especially if your me Mending anything!! |

Be very very careful of engine suppliers ,esp London area. the con merchants have dozens of ways of inflating your bill from 1000 to 3000.
Eg, after removing your old engine you are told that they can't "recondition" it for some other mug so that's an extra 500, your turbo and water pump need replacing another 600, you need oil and antifreeze another 100, or even a silver paint recon of yourinjector pump another 600
Mine( shogun)only lasted a month, another person I knew insisted he hadn't read the small print and they just left his vehicle in bits when they did a flit.
It's well worth getting a mechanic with experience of your engine to take a look at yours first , they should do 400000km plus. _________________ Delica chamonix PE8W 96.love at first sight.

Obviously we don't know what your mechanical knowledge is; But what is it that makes you think it needs replacing. It may just be that a specific part that needs sorting.
These engines are quite sturdy, but do need looking after for best performance. _________________
