Hi folks ,

I am getting poor FM reception in my 2002 Delica petrol.

I have changed the radio for a double din unit for the reverse camera screen function, all good except poor radio reception.

I have tried a signal booster which helped a bit but I Can't rule out a worn out pillar mounted antenna.

Can I buy a modern boosted pillar mounted antenna that maybe bends/folds flat for low access ect

many thanks

regards, Dave

Id'e be surprised if it's the ariel, (L400  Question )

I would be looking for a damaged co-axial cable and poor earths.

An accessory antennae  - where to fit  Question
If it's any help, long time back, I used to fit two way radio systems to cars.

On one car I did the owner did not want any holes drilled in the bodywork - so, I mounted the antennae on the steel bumper,
it worked extremely well  Smile  In fact, better than many other cars, where the installation was not as tidy as what I did.

Dave, I have fitted a DAB antenna for my Sony head unit (4years old) It sticks to the underside of my glass sun roof, but could just as easily stick to the top of the windscreen.  I get perfect reception on FM stations, AM band is perhaps still analogue, judging by poorer/variable reception and atmospheric interference..

As Andyman my antenna is mounted just above the mirror on the windscreen, it is also a powered antenna.

You can buy a thin film amplified antennae that you stick to the inside of the top of the windscreen for £3 including postage.
