From your post - They say "There may be a slight increase in some of the prices".
Slight = Only DOUBLE I've heard of "Rip Off Britain" but that's taking the P.
I think they need a "Good Talking to"

Looking at various sites around the Lake District, ones that actually indicate prices, £20 seems fairly average. However, the National Trust have a new, very basic, but beautifully positioned site at Hoathwaite, near Torver, a few miles south of Coniston. Frustratingly, no published tariff, so I will phone them tomorrow. Unlike their other sites, camper vans are not relegated to the hard standing areas, and you can pretty much select your own pitch in the grassy field. Like Coniston Hall, there is lakeside access for launching canoes etc. With all the recent rain making the ground a bit soft, we in our 4x4s may be able to reach the parts others can't or daren't get to! Watch this space, I may suggest moving the venue! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

I have just had a reply from Coniston Hall Campsite about 2017 prices.
It is not as bad as the lad told Andy.
Thank you for your email.
The prices for 2017 are £9 per adult and £2 per vehicle per night. The showers are operated by 50p coins.
There will be plenty of space next weekend so you can just turn up.
Please note that unfortunately we cannot accept card payments so it is cash only.
We have a barrier across the road and a £10 deposit is also required for a card to operate it.
Please let me know if require any further information.
Regards
Carolyn

Either site looks great to me, so I'd be happy with going for either. _________________ 1992 L300 Exceed "Selma" |

Wot Lewis said. I Just rang Coniston Hall again to check what the lad had said, and the lady who answered said £11 for one person in a camper van, £20 for a couple. Phew! As you were, Peeps. And we can have fires, if they are raised off the ground, so I'm bringing my Aldi firebasket, not big, but effective, + logs. Sorry to make y'all sweat! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Likewise all packed excpt the food and beer, which is chilling in the fridge. Looks like being dry if not exactly hot, but heyho, this is Cumbria in April. And I've packed 2 bags of wood for the Aldi fire. See you in Muker/ Coniston _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Wow, you're all well ahead of me... I really should bathe Selma at least!
Anyway, see (most?) of you at Tan Hill around lunchtime (12:30ish) on Saturday! Looking forward to it.
Andyman, any change of plans/delays/mishaps, please give me a shout on the mobile, signal permitting... _________________ 1992 L300 Exceed "Selma" |

Just back from a really enjoyable, long weekend, and the weather gods smiled on us, and for those of us that made it, the Deli-gremlins kept away, and hopefully everyone gets home without incident. Lewis and Ian ( Fostlongstrider) and probably others will be along later with pics and videos to make you wish you had been there. For now, thanks to them, Pat (Cunninglinguist)- for his hospitality and the warmth of his home after a freezing night in Muker, - the cold being due to clear skies which gave us lovely sunshine until late afternoon Sunday, Paulus and Sue for coming, and invaluable, experienced advice on which tracks to navigate with just the right amount of challenge, Luke (Gotbeanz) and family for turning up so promptly on the Sunday morning after a 9 hour drive from Cornwall the previous day, Jejeunje for coming all the way from Scotland to ensure L300s outnumbered L400s at all times, and also Tim (Mouseflakes) for coming to Coniston to meet us, with his son, sadly after most had departed. The Southern Meet needs to happen, and the L400s need to turn up! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Oh, and a BIG thank you to Ian for lending me his duvet on that frosty Friday night in Swaledale, without which I probably would have resembled a Birds-Eye product the next morning, (how can one forget one's sleeping bag on a camping trip? -answer, - over excitement and tired grey cells). Ian warmed himself selflessly with an extended trip to the generously heated washrooms in the very nice Usha Gap camp site in the middle of the night, rather than bang on my door and ask for his duvet back. Mention in dispatches methinks! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Well now (or not), just over a week ago, went shopping, purchased 40 litres of Costco fuel additive, with the intentions of a drive "Up Norf"
I had to work late Friday/Saturday morning. On Saturday I was so tired, I could not do anything constructive, didn't even want to ride me bike
Reading the "write ups" i feel that I missed a good meet

Thanks Ian, not that keen tho, this week I will be doing - yet more machining for "Old Bike" bits.
This for a friend who re-manufactures - renovates old bikes. The work I do is mostly drilling large (1" - 1 1/2") holes in new steel castings.
Some of the parts require drilling at compound angles - Not really suited for amateurs
Plus milling slots and surfacing, on castings that require it.
