Not a great day  Sad

Anyone no the part number or the name of this part to ask the breaker for ?

Is it slam panel or such? I think it luckily unbolts.

This is what happens when an artic reverses into you. Luckily witnessed and on cctv ( there is a god! )

Insurance are going to try and write it off but of course they are not gonna get away with that easily !

Got off fairly lightly I think

Yes, known as a slam panel or rad hanger.

I have a number for a guy in the NW who will have one - pm if you want his number.

Infact last time I was there he had 3 green L400s breaking on the go - so he may have all the parts you need.

If insurance does write it off, let them know you want to buy it back before they dispose of it. As it is on the trucker's insurance, make sure you get all the assessor's details. Are they going to remove it for assessment? Find out where to, so you can stake your claim. And find adverts for similar condition/spec vehicles so you can argue the toss if they undervalue it. Hoping they just agree to fix it.

I've been through a bit on the phone already and they seem fairly relaxed on whether I keep or not.

If not she's being hidden and locked away in a secret location!  Wink

Still drives fine but needs new rad to function.

It's off the road till that's sorted.  Otherwise, wheel centres still measure the same, left and right, no creases in engine bay that I can see and shut lines still good.  Or,  as good as they ever were.!

They gonna come round and look at her and I'm borrowing a big dog that day, just in case.

Shame my left ankle didn't get away as lightly but that's another story. Not gonna ham it up either. Insurance costs enough as it is.

As someone else says on here. " it will buff out"!

Ouch!  Thats bad news>  Evil or Very Mad

But here is the good news.  Smile

Take a look at the front end of my last Deli, what bodywork isn't there is the bits that are supposed to be removed when you remove the engine.

You can see the various parts on the diagram below. The bit you are after, item 62640, is Part Number MR125636

Assuming your aircon radiator isn't busted then not only are the parts obtainable from a breakers; then once you have them you can easily remove and refit the damaged items yourself, in less than a day or two.
Aircon rad damage is a specialist (and expensive) repair, unless you don't need it then you can strip it out along with other aircon bits and sell them for scrap. Aluminium still has a reasonable return.  Wink

The plastic body panel that is cracked can also be plastic welded, if you cannot get hold of one at reasonable cost; then it just needs respraying. However I reckon you should be able to get it all easily.

Cheers Lewis.
I didn't even think of the aircon rad.

That's a good diagram for help. I did have that software but wasn't able to install it on my new laptop so that's a big help.  Thanks.

My aircon hasn't worked in a while because of a couple of o rings leaking but have them in my "to do" box.

If it's bust, it's bust. I suppose it's the least of my worries.

I have a spare bull bar centre and the black plastic already.

It was a high hit and so luckily missed the lights.

Theres probs a few who have had worse damage off roading on a weekend!

Hopefully be back with pictures soon.,  even if it is with some grey primer'ed bonnet!

Cheers

That's too bad mate with all the work you have done on it; there are a crowd in Nottingham called Mitsibitz who specialise in Mitsi's and have lots of Delica's, Pajero's etc. so they may be able to help you out as well.

That's interesting, as the MitzyBits that I have used, and mentioned a few times, is located on Meadowbank Road, in Rotherham!  :?

Cheers all.  Smile

Assessor coming tomorrow.  I've given him a few pointers as to rough prices of bits that I've found so far and told him I'm quite happy to fit to keep price down. I've said this as at this stage and it's age it is a write off in there eyes.

Remember my main aim is to be driving again quick.

I don't think I could bare having to find another and go through all those jobs again!

I may try mitsi bits and Mitzi bits and play them off against each other. What with being so close!

Thanks for the support fellas  Smile
