Hi All, Have not posted for a while.
I now have a Mk2 L400 2.8 TD (still got my Mk1 as a parts donor)
It pulls like a steam train, wheelspins very easily (in 2WD) and will easily go above the national speed limit.
HOWEVER, as soon as I hitch up my trailer it struggles, loaded or empty. the trailer is an Ifor Williams 106 trailer 3 years old and no problems with brakes.
I have changed the fuel and air filters, blanked the EGR, and run injector cleaner through and nothing has helped. I have even put new calipers on as they were old and a bit sticky.
Any other ideas would be much appreciated or if I have missed something obvious.

Check for boost leaks on the hoses, maybe fit a boost gauge so you can see what its doing

Stupid idea on my part, maybe  Rolling Eyes

Have you tried putting similar weight of the trailer, inside of the Deli  Question    See what happens.

A couple of years back, I hired an Ifor W. 4 wheel trailer (240 mile round trip) and my L400 S1 didn't know it was hitched on.

Ended up being a right P-e off, went to buy a lathe - The Bl--dy thing was not working properly =
Hired the trailer (cost 109 sobs) for nowt - Lathe wise   Not to mention the 50-60 sobs for the fuel  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad

It gets better  Rolling Eyes  the seller tried to put the lathe right, so I spent two nights in the Deli, hoping he might have got it working properly.

Have you tried towing anything else, besides the Trailer

Similar to Deker an 18' tilting Ifor, with a Tractor, Bucket and Bale Fork on board, was towed with my previous Deli with no problems.

Thanks for the replies.

I have checked all the pipes and Can't find a leak but its been raining so I only had a quick look, will probably swap the pipework with my donor as I know they are in good condition.

I have driven with the bus fully loaded and its the same as when its empty, it only struggles with the trailer. I can push and pull the trailer by hand on my own so there is no resistance from that.

I used to use a friends trailer that is not in the best condition and I didn't know it was there, loaded or empty. My trailer is in as new condition and i have towed it with a friends Volvo and it tows perfectly.

I will report back when I have swoped the pipework.
