Just wanted a moan about my own stupidity. I haven't been on here for a while but I'm always drawn back for a nose around.

Basically I sold my Deli about a year ago as due to a change of circumstances and a lot of travelling to and fro, the fuel economy was doing my head in and I thought a "normal car" would be much more suitable.

So Far this P.O.S. "normal" car has cost me more to fix than my lovely Delilah (as my boys named her) ever cost me, in fact the only "failure" I ever had with her was the gearbox speed sensor thingy stopping overdrive performing correctly. Everything else was just peace of mind stuff like fluids, filter, pump seal and lovely shiny expansion tank.

She took me camping, to track days with the bike in tow, to the Lakes for my running adventures, to the South downs for more running related stuff and she was just pretty awesome all round. She had niggles but I could cope with most of them and I liked tinkering with her bits...... Embarassed

I have absolutely no inclination to do the same with the Sh**box I own now and I have had nowhere near the fun or memories that she brought me  Evil or Very Mad

Oh well, I guess the moral is live and learn, and think hard before making rash decisions.  Sad

Best I start looking for another Funbus  Smile

Cheers all and sorry for the rant  Embarassed

At least they float, so having knobbly tyres on will make them go forward, like a paddle boat.  Laughing

I know exactly where you are coming from, having sold my rare and beautiful Renault 19 16V cabriolet 2years ago for a pittance, and which while temperamental, cost me less in parts and repairs in 10 years, than the Audi which replaced it as a 'reliable, long-distance commuter'. As I am currently going through a lean time, the anonymous Audi has been sold, and while I can't afford to use the Delica much, I am not going to subject myself to that level of self-kicking again. So I am going to spend some of my spare time welding up the rusty old MGF my wife has replaced with a shiny Merc SLK. Like the Renault, it won't be worth anything, but I might have some FUN in it before I sell that too, for a pittance.

And now I'm in a position to buy another, there don't seem to be many in my price range (about £2k), or less than 100 miles away.

I Keep looking longingly at the white one on ebay (in tilbury) but don't have the time to go see it in the flesh. I've asked some questions but no replies as yet. Unless it belongs to anyone on here who could give me some gen??

I'm so tempted and I know I shouldn't buy it unseen but........ 😳

Well, I'm officially back in the Deli family 😃 Picked her up today and for the age I'm pretty happy. Will be back with pictures tomorrow and a big bunch of probably daft questions.

Cheers all

I live in a little village near Silverstone. On a good day I hear V8 motors on full chat, on a poor day its 4 pot bangers.
Wi-fi, or as locally known wiffie or the tintinternet, comes down a bit of wire from God knows where. When other villagers are not on their 'phones it's tolerable, otherwise I could walk faster to get info.
We are promised broadband this autumn. In the meantime, pavements are dug up, road works seem intermittent but sadly lacking in quality with wiffie being sometimes slow or even sloooooooooooooooooweeeeeeeeer .
So my Delica comrades this leads me to my quandary - I would like to publish some pictures of my project - interior refit, front suspension/brake overhaul, chassis rust treatment, etc.etc. But it seems I need a plethora of programmes to publish a jpg file onto the forum.
Question is, do I need to spend hours on the PC to show what I'm working on or should I be be on/in the Delica doing it?

Help!

PS Unlikely to make an immediate response as being dragged to Cyprus tomorrow for a "holiday"

I'm a total computer nerd.
After taking a photo, how do I upload it to show I really do Delica rebuilds?

You need a Photobucket account, upload your pics there, set the size and put on here,  there is a thread on here somewhere that explains it

Just back from two weeks wall to wall blue skies and 30 degrees of sun.

What a list of posts to catch up. You guys never seem to stop!

Decorating for the next few days and then back down the man cave to start spannering.

A few days decorating somehow extended to installing sun room, new timber flooring, some re-wiring and generally sorting out mess and f*** ups left by builder.
This morning Bosch engineer pronounced our 2½ year old dishwasher is unsafe and must be replaced.
More expense.
So, I'm now trying to find a dishwasher before Xmas when a family of 12 arrive. So if any of you guys are feeling benevolent and like warm water, I can provide rubber gloves, tea/coffee/alcohol, bacon sarnies, turkey curry etc. etc. in return for duties at the kitchen sink.
Meanwhile the Delica still languishes in the garage waiting for me to arrive with spanners.
Merry Xmas to all.    santa

I though Bosch had a minimum three year warranty on domestic goods ? In any case a washer should last more than three years, so it may be worth pushing for a freebie:- https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/my-washing-machine-is-broken-can-i-get-it-repaired-or-replaced
