Anyone planing an adventure round the plain be aware that a few of the byways have been TRO'd, they have also closed the lanes by Stonehenge too. Looks like they've been plowed up by over use and also the irresponsible off roaders have been causing issues again so the local enforcement has got stricter. Rolling Eyes

They are looking for any excuse to get those lanes in Henge closed it also has a lot to do with stopping people parking there overnight and to look at the Henge. But its the same hardcore off roaders chewing up the ever reducing amount ol lanes who are as much to blame but we probably make it worse going along them when they are in poor repair too but we don't rip it up or drive illegaly which is another nail in the green laning coffin.

Sad not wrong there baz, a guy I work with has his own club and supposed to encourage responsible off roading then goes out on the impact range in areas that are off limits. They wonder why we are losing so many tracks. Just be pay n play days left before long.

I have been out with other people/clubs who off road illegally when it suits them so now just go on the MDOCUK meets with people I know and trust plus I make sure I know where I am with gps as I have been caught out before the other thing is my hobby is green laning ie driving down unsurfaced roads others go off roading which is a different concept in their eyes.
As the powers that be reduce the driveable lanes the ones left get more use then get closed through damage and so on ans so on when the lanes are all gone and the ant'is start on the cyclists it will be business as usual for the illegal off roaders.

It has been done in the past and it is still so that if anyone from this forum is known to have driven off road illegally and intentionally, they will be banned from this and all other yellow diamond forums. Wink

Went out on a small excursion and seems like A lot of the byways round bulford and tidworth are all still open, just seems to be larkhill side of the plain. I have always stayed on legal byways and check first before venturing down lanes to make sure they are open to us off road explorer's. Local councils are not very helpful but the land wardens are more than happy to run through the maps with you showing which lanes are tro'd so all good
