Hi, just towed our caravan down to Cornwall and found that on hills she lost a lot of power going up hills. Pulled the caravan to Scotland last year with no problem. Any ideas what has caused this ?

First, check fuel filter. Always good to replace as first item to eliminate problems.
Second, check fuel cap for vacuum.
3rd, brakes binding 
Fourth, low calorific fuel - cheap supermarket stuff etc.

| its quite easy, just behind the battery, disconnect the cable off the bottom before twisting it off (might be tight) make sure you have the same filter, check the seal around the top and inner seal as some don't have them, bit of oil on the seal and twist it back on, pump the primer on the top and fire it up. |

| Had the fuel filter changed had milners send one down won't know until we drag the caravan home, about the turbo, is there a test that can be done to tell if the turbo is okay and where would be the best place to get a new turbo ? |

Easy to test = Remove outlet air hose from Turbo, the one that goes to the Intercooler -
Start engine, DO NOT insert human bodily parts into Turbo 
with engine running there should be loads O air being expelled, rev engine a bit, or even quite a bit, should be loads more air.
Also check for oil with the air, if oil is sprayed out - then check as follows -
STOP engine - WAIT for turbo to stop spinning, Take hold of the turbo shaft, check for vertical and horizontal movement,
might be quite a bit, not to worry, unless the turbo vanes touch the body. If so it's NFG.
Also check for Axial play, that is - Push Pull along the shaft, should be very little play.

| Turbos are pretty simple, they work or they don't, nothing really in between, if you hold the intercooler pipes and rev the engine you should feel them swell if you do its boosting and that'll be working. |

Changed the fuel filter filled her up not esso, seems to be pulling better but Saturday morning will be the test on the way back from Cornwall. Done the turbo test that seems all okay |

How heavy is your caravan?
How steep is the hill?
Mine is 1600kg (allegedly ) , and yes hills are a struggle, but slow and gentle wins the day.
Don't forget that you Deli is over 2 tonnes solo.
