So, having ripped the bullbar off my Deli I'm not really interested in doing the work to fit another one.

However i do need recovery points on it for the many times i get stuck when doing something silly off road...

Has anyone ever fitted some sturdy points to the front of their Deli?

I'd be interested in this, too, as I need something similar.

The Series 2, which does not use a bullbar, has a towing eye welded to the inside of the chassis, so you could probably weld a plate on the outside opposite the inner chassis bolt position then fix a U shaped towing eye there.

Alternately there was an item years back on the Oz club about doing a modification to the bullbar towing eyes.

Luckily I kept a copy of the piccy's:-

I thought there was a long thread on Delica Recovery points / bridles etc. but I can't find it anywhere on the forum now.  Could the thread have been deleted?

Not That I can remember other than the one, by Welsh Deligon, here:- http://www.MDOCUK.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=46380

Referring to the one done by Anylane.

the thread had some weblinks to vids of Delica's being towed / towing other 4x4s in a recovery situation.

Someone was saying to not use their towbar as a recovery point as it bent it.

These are the pages from the Original Japanese Mitsu manual on towing, and their UK equivalent

The first illustration on each shows the welded on towing hooks for the Series 2, i.e. without the grill guard.

Be very careful using either the front or rear standard points, and the towball/ towbar shouldn't be used for recovery, tho I have, and its bent the towbar  Shocked  Shocked

Is it okay to post on a very old thread and resurrect it?

Series II

Removable plate on front o/s panel, use a coin or anything to twist the release lug.  Pull forward panel.

I used this to load very resistant Deli, with no power, onto flatbed trailer up a slight slope on grass.  I thought the cable was going to snap!

Certainly the attach point held firm.

At a guess this would be the towing point so would be doubt be okay for light recovery work
