Legally Yes.

In reality no.

Attachable mirrors do help you see a blind spot but vibrate at motorway speeds so just become a blur.

I would not drive without them apart from the legal aspect you need them to see whats going on around you and change lanes etc.

Been towing 3.5 ton trailers around for an age, mainly Ifor Williams and Bateson etc, never used mirror extensions at all, mainly groundscare equipment which does tend to be loaded in the middle and so leaves some visibility down the sides, Deli is probably no different to Shogun ,Isuzu etc  but just wondered what the visibility would be like towing a box shape, I will get the mirror extensions anyway  to be safe and sensible but might not have a chance before collecting the caravan, hence the question  Smile

They are a legal, requirement have a look at this link

http://www.caravanwise.co.uk/caravan-tips/towing-mirrors.html

Many caravanners treat towing mirrors as something that they can do without but the law says different. There is a legal requirement for you to have mirrors that allow you to see clearly an area that is 4 metres wide from the side of your caravan at a distance 20 metres behind the driver. A caravan is significantly wider than a car even a large 4x4 and you simply can't comply with the law unless you fit towing mirrors.

Cheers,

Mike.
