|
|
Hello all,
I have a L400 that has a serious engine failure, parked up in Lyon France, the Mitsubishi dealer isn't interested and nor are the local Mitsu garages...does any one have any ideas.
I think the rings have gone...the van isn't smoking too much but it wasn't at all before. There isn't a valve rattling sound at all but just piston slap, the other 3 cilinders are still pulling fine. |

International breakdown assistance? Maybe tied in with your insurance if no separate cover. _________________ Marc

Been there done that, but in Spain.
You need to contact your insurer, assuming you have international breakdown cover.
The general criteria is that if a garage is unable to do a repair before your holiday period is up then they will fly you home and effect a recovery of the vehicle back to your home in the UK or to your local garage for repair.

Apparently I don't have international cover, plus I wouldn't leave the van anyway I had 2 classic motorcycles in it worth a fortune, 2 mins ago I found a 4x4 specialist who is prepared to pick up and fix....thank's for the reply it is conforting to know someone is out there. It's been 38hours no sleep and hard driving since the old bus gave up on me, and this is the first positive moment. F..ing hell the learning curve is steep.
again thanks to all for the help ....now for the insurers.........
