Got home from work, wanted to look up weather, see how much snow may come down.

So - onto the net - BBC weather, scrolled around for a bit, snow depth in some foriegn measurement which I cannot relate to  Sad

Then PC locked, press Reset button, PC was slow on booting, eventually MSG states Insert System Disc  Exclamation Errrr
Which I did (genuine MS Win XP Pro) After ages MSG = No HD found, more  Exclamation  Exclamation

Done this a couple of times. Then off with the case side, play with the HD leads, switch on, all okay  Smile

Phew, that was a relief.

You may already have done this, But just in case back up everything you want to keep, it could also be the drive playing up and moving things around inside had freed it off, they sometimes only need a little tap after they start getting 'sticky', has th hard drive been 'busy' lately as if searching a lot? Definately still do a full backup if you don't have one
