After weeks of auto trader and endless dealerships looking for a Delica I was prepared to part with my hard earned cash for, I finally arrived at Southern Motors who I found via the Internet. My initial impression was their vehicles seemed a bit expensive but after a visit I was taken back by the quality of all their stock, not just Delicas.
I am now the proud owner of an N reg Super exceed in better condition than anything I had seen previously. Dealing with Southern Motors was a relaxed and friendly experience. I drove away confident and happy with my new purchase and still of the belief that at the end you can get what you pay for. |

Got mine from Nigel - All okay except they didn't send the log book on to me until I asked several times after several months. Having said that, would deal with them again - car has given me no trouble. |

yep I was lucky as I live very close to Southern Motors I made several visits and found nigel and his staff very helpful. I was never pushed into buying one and took a couple out on tests drive. they have lots of stock and well worth a visit. So far I've had no probs with my Deli and loving the new experience . _________________ Anna |

Like most people, we also dealt with Nigel. Made the journey from Kent on the strength of comments posted here and of course the poll.
No pressure, friendly atmosphere, nice vehicles and willing to negotiate a good deal. We really couldn't have asked for more really. Even picked us up from the coach station.
Would definately go back again.... not too soon I hope

:D Hi everyone from Henry the newest member of the club.
Looking for a shiny Beast 8) Live in Soft South so I am near to Bournemouth Dealers, 8). Does anyone know who own/runs Southern Motors first and surnames, as a M8 bought a Pajero from them recenlty
Also see a lot of new shape Beasts 8) advertised in South Wales by a firm called CAPELS, has anyone used them and what are they like at Beast trading? Would you give them a second go? |

I bought my L300 from there too about a year ago, I found Nigel and Alvin very helpful. I haven't had to use their warranty, and can confirm that the quality of their stock seemed to be some of the better stuff that I have seen. _________________ L400 LWB Blue over Grey and L300 Super Exceed Green over Silver

I guess the reason to make a post is to be honest, and I have no reason to be otherwise... Expensive is correct, I felt I paid over the odds from the start. BUT I got the car I wanted and the selling was not pressured. Alvin was fine and friendly and I didn't get too much BS. My only reservation was when after a test drive I questioned the functionality of the Air Con? I was told it was working fine! I had my doubts, but reserve crept in and I didn't question it further. Upon collection and during the test drive it pee'd it down so testing the air con was tricky. However a return to Doncaster and a visit to the air con specialist in my area confirmed that the air con didn't function because the belt to the pump had been removed, and when replaced, the pump was knackered. I was not happy. BUT to be fair, I phoned Alvin, told him of the situation, and he said "get the bits, get it sorted, I WILL PAY" And true to his word he did. I paid for a pump, fitting, belt, charging. Sent Alvin the bills and he paid up many hundreds of pounds..... he could have been awkward but he was a star...
Thanks Alvin, excellent service. Recommended Dealer. He kept his word, he paid up when asked, and that's scarce these days. :D :D :D _________________

Being near to Nigel I often ring for advise and considering I didn't buy from him, he has always been so helpful and a pleasure to contact, and he knows what he's talking about and I find that helps a lot
I would recommend anyone to him without worry |

I found them to be very good. I'd looked at about 6-7 Deli's at different dealers around the area and found Nigel to be the most helpful.
Not the cheapest but, you gt what you pay for! |

Have been to these people a couple of times as they are very local to me, friendly enough but when I left my details as I was interested in an (expensive)Deli they had in the workshop, they didn't bother calling me back, also phoned them to ask their reknowed advice and was fobbed off with vague reply. Maybe different staff? who knows, wouldn't consider them in the future. chris |

Hi all,
Just thought I'd give my input on this place. Recently bought a van from here which they delivered to me at home. Turned out that they'd not done any of the work that was agreed on it before the sale so I have a rattling exhaust and a speedo that only reads in kph (and a crack in the dashboard that wasn't there in the showroom...)
I am very much not impressed. A lot of phone calls later, with Alvin being the only one empowered to make any kind of decisions on things and I still have no resolution on these issues. Was promised a replacement speedo faceplate 3 weeks ago which has still not turned up. In fact the only time they've actually called me back instead of me having to talk to them they were in fact trying to contact someone else and used the wrong number!
If I get some kind of service from them I'll amend this accordingly but at present not really a happy customer. |
