If your up that way. We have spent the night on the beach there on many occasions. Sign says no overnight parking but we have never been stopped. Tide won't bother you and beautiful views. _________________ There is a man with a mullet going mad with a mallet in Millets |

Shouldn't that be "we have never been moved off"

It sounds lovely, and it something I've fancied doing since seeing the photos of Delis parked near the beach...
But I have been a bit bothered about setting up and then someone stopping me from being there...
Doubt I will get up that far, but as I say, it sounds lovely...

Where is Gregg when you need him.
Gregg, tried looking up said location, I can only find Silverdale in Lancashire.
Can you or anyone else pin-point the location please.

Ange why could you not "get up that far" from what I can see on a map, it is only about 30 miles further,
than for you to go to Rhiw
For me to go to the Lakes, its about 270 miles.
Rhiw, about the same, using part scenic routes

Thanks LKG
Is that the beach, off Lakes Road, Workington Just South of the Derwent estuary.
Bit too close to town for my liking.
Lori sez

I was up there last year, on my way to Scotland.
Your'e right about the views, across the Solway Firth to Dumfries.

Hi Deker, i think that the post code is probably the area Gregg was on about, it's at the begining (or end ) of the Cumbria costal way so probably counts as being in Cumbria even if it's a Lancashire post code.

All is clear now, thanks folks.
I now know why Gregg said it is in Cumbria.
Last time I was up that way = 1997, on me bike, with a friend.
We both liked the ride up the A6 through Morecambe and Carnforth, on our way to the Lakes.
Even nowadays, 13 years later, we still remark how nice the area around Carnforth is,
fond memories. Must go that way again.
