can anybody tell me how to stop my tow bar from creeking when I'm towing my caravan the van has an alko hich which i was told not no grease the first time i towed the van it was fine then i cleaned both the tow bar ball and the socket there was a small amount of grease on the cloth and ever since the creeking as started what should i do ?

clean off tow ball and coupling with brake cleaner, check alco frition pads, if worn replace and, check towbar assembly for loose nuts and bolts, then start checking caravan A frame over and try greasing overrun coupling, that is the 1 or 2 grease nipples on caravan hitch  Smile  hth

ours creeks ,as every things clean as shoud be.may be it does it to let you know its there,asif you didn't know,
just turn the stereo up.

as said no grease  clean it all off with brake cleaner as the alco hitch grips the ball due to it being a stabiliser as well  if you look on alco web site should tell you how to check the fricton pads  8-)  8-)

it's normally a little bit of grit that causes it to creek between the friction pads, as steve b says strip it out clean pads and ball with brake cleaner this should stop it. Crying or Very sad
