i have a 12v dvd player for the car ,I've tried it in the house with a 12v transformer i have.
the problem is it won't work is this to do with drawning more miliamps than the transformer can handle.300
how many milliamps does a cigar lighter rate at is it 500???
is this why? thanks

By the handbook it states that the cigarette lighter will take up to 120Watts what is 10A.

300 milliamps is really 0.3Amps.

Don't forgetting you need the key turned for the lighter to work.

it is for car use (dc) the transformer is dc
tried an other transformer rated at 1200ma
it works
just wanted to use the dvd in the house as well as car.

Have you checked th polarity is right?

yes polarity is right positive in the middle
