CB Licence was scrapped years ago and not needed anymore.
Ref what channel to use.. You usually pre-arrange ahead of an event what
channel to all use. CB range is 5-15 Miles roughly depending on terrain.
Channel 9 is considered the Emergency Channel so don't use!, Channel 19 is
traditionally the main talking chat channel
I usually leave my CB radio on Channel Scan where it will scan all the channels
and stop on one that has a signal (i.e. someones talking).
You need to Squelch out the interpherence/background noise 1st or the channel scan will
take the background noise as a signal.
CBs arnt as used as they used to be. I pickup ppl about once every 3 days where I live.
But obviously its great for events/offroading. _________________ K Reg Mitsubishi Delica Star Wagon 2.5T D.

Well I've had my CB since Christmas and have found that most of the local muppets spend their days sat in front of their CB's clogging up channel 19 thus meaning you can't get a word in sideways to call anyone up! Channel 9 seems to be used by other muppets instead of it's intended purpose, and us Deli CB'ers up morth here tend to use channel 16 for meets (don't ask me why but we do!). Good luck mate and have fun _________________ . 92 L300 Exceed, Corse Grey/Grace Silver (with some bits of red)

It appears that way. It is SUPPOSED to be the "calling channel" but looks like it's way too abused these days to be of any use, just full of muppets around here slagging each other off and effing and jeffing all the time (oh yeah and playing music! AARGH MUPPETS!) _________________ . 92 L300 Exceed, Corse Grey/Grace Silver (with some bits of red)
