HI there I've owned my L300 super exceed for about 10 months i blanked off the egr valve with a piece of tin not long after i purchased the vehicle. Today i used the blanking plate from the club shop ,on removing the old tin plate i noticed a piece was missing i presume it has entered the engine. My question is will it damage my engine? or could it have possibly melted away? :?

Hi Greco and welcome to the club :D

A few people over at pocuk (pajero engines) blanked the EGR with a coke can! and they all reported when changing to a propper plate from the club shop that they all had a hole burnt in them,no one has mentioned anything untoward since this happend so i presume it has just melted away as there is serious high tempretures involved, hope that puts your mind at rest all the best
