Hi All,

I know this is possibly covered in another topic; however I have been searching for about 2 hours and I'm getting tired. Can anyone tell me where I can find the VIN plate on an L400. I need to respray a few panels and the grey seems to have a metalic in it.

Cheers

Lee

Thanks for that. Thats where I thought it was. If it is that I'm buggered as it's all in Japanese. Any other ideas on getting the paint code?

The VIN Plate, fixed to the offside wing in the engine bay, should look like this:-

Your vehicle paint codes will be on the left side of the bottom line, in English type numbers, the codes are listed on the Pajero Owners site here:-  http://www.pocuk.com/paintcodes.txt

The same paint code can be used by your local Halfords to mix you up an aerosol of the paint you require, not expensive.

Guy's you are absolute diamonds!!!

Anyway after it staring me in the face for 2 days I have found the VIN plate. The top half is a lovely colour called Astoria Green, obviously the designers had frequesnted the loo's at Charing X road. The bottom however is a metalic grey, which isn't on the VIN plate, so my plans of wiping all traces of the ham fisted bad driver who was the cretinous previos owner this weekend are looking slimmer.

Most of the Delicas I see have this 2 tone look. Is it a standard grey on the bottom. I've attached a piccie of Thunderbird 2, let me know what you think.

Cheers

The number you've recognised as Astoria Green is the G89 part of the code, the following three characters denote the lower colour, and I would reckon, looking at your picture, it's probably H39 (same as in Lewis' picture above) which is Kaiser Silver.

Same as mine, y' see.

Good this site innit?

Take a sample of each for matching up as the colours in the book do not take into account the effect of 14 years of UV light fading the original.

Although the mixes Halfords made for Mine are spot on with the colour swatch in the book they are a bit dark when applied!  :?
