I've just broken a front wheel stud on my L300, it would seem that due to lack of clearance at the rear of the broken bit that I'll have to split the hub/disc to fit a new one, can anyone confirm.

that is the normal way, you have to remove the hub and take it right down to the bare hub, remove bearings etc, generaly looks a bigger job than it is. some cars have a space in the hub so that you can align the back of the stud with a hole or cut out. then whack out the old stud and fit new one. _________________ Regards

Cheers mate, thats what it looked like, I was hoping I could get away with just putting a stud in without dismantling as the hub end cap is proving immovable (even with a chain wrench).
