I've just broken a front wheel stud on my L300, it would seem that due to lack of clearance at the rear of the broken bit that I'll have to split the hub/disc to fit a new one, can anyone confirm.

Tony

that is the normal way, you have to remove the hub and take it right down to the bare hub, remove bearings etc, generaly looks a bigger job than it is. some cars have a space in the hub so that you can align the back of the stud with a hole or cut out. then whack out the old stud and fit new one.

Cheers mate, thats what it looked like, I was hoping I could get away with just putting a stud in without dismantling as the hub end cap is proving immovable (even with a chain wrench).

Tony.
